Take part in Filming the Web Series

The casting process has taken place and we are getting ready to film our web series. The first 3 episodes will be screened on May 10th as part of the Wandsworth Fringe Festival. Please see below a link to the screening.

Casting! Calling all actors

The Underdogs Meetup Group are casting for their 7 part, drama based web series that raises awareness about mental health, gambling addiction and domestic violence.

All the characters and storylines are based on real life events.

The first 3 episodes of the web series will be screened as part of the Wandsworth Arts Fringe in May 2016.

Auditions are taking place on Tuesday 23rd February. Filming will take place in March.

Please note that this is an unpaid job but will be great exposure and will highlight some important issues.

CHARACTERS:

* JERMAINE CAMPBELL (17-20) Black male, London accent.Up and coming Grime artist.  Grew up in a Christian home and previously pursued a career as a Gospel rap artist. Has since changed his views on religion and is keen to get this across in his music. We are interested in seeing any real life hip hop/grime MCs for this part.

ALBERT CAMPBELL (50’s-60’s) Black male, West Indian accent (but has lived in the UK for over 30 years).

A reformed bad boy who is now a devoted Christian. A committed husband and father of two.

*PAULINE CAMPBELL (50’s) Black female, London accent (but can speak patois).

British born of Caribbean descent.  Born again Christian with a wild past. Married to Albert and they have two children together. Devoted mother and very family orientated.

DEAN CHASE (late 20’s -mid 30’s) Black male, London accent.

Father of a 12 year old son with his long term girlfriend. Dean is a down to earth and steady guy. An electrician by trade and very family orientated.

MARCUS BROWN aka NINE LIVES (20’s to 30’s) Black male, any UK accent.

Marcus is a compulsive gambler. An only child brought up in a loving family but has always felt misunderstood.

* DENISE CUNNINGHAM aka DEE DEE (late 30’s to mid 40’s) Black female, London accent.

Denise is ambitious and successful in her professional life but her long term relationship is fraught with emotional abuse and control. She is very insecure about her appearance despite being very attractive.

* LEE  JONES (late 30’d to late 40’s) Black male, any UK accent.

Is in a long term relationship with Denise. Lee has recently lost his job and is feeling quite frustrated. His current situation is affecting his relationship with Denise. Lee is charming and can be quite manipulative.

* DEREK CUNNINGHAM (40’s) Black male, London accent.

A single father who has been bringing up his son Jordan since the age of one. He is responsible and dependable. He is very sporty and is a regular gym goer.

JORDAN CUNNINGHAM (Late teens-early 20’s)Black or Mixed Race male, London accent.

Jordan is law student. He lives with his father who has been caring for him and raising him on his own. He is popular and good looking but underneath is insecure and needy.

ANNABELLE SMITH (Late teens to early 20′) Female, any ethnicity, London accent.

Jordan’s girlfriend and fellow law student. Confident, rebellious and image conscious. She is quite controlling at times.

* SABRINA BENSON (late 20’s-early 30’s) Female any ethnicity, UK accent.

Sabrina is single and constantly compares herself to her peers that are married and settled. Very attractive but has major confidence and self esteem issues.
